Signals I trust
A two-paragraph answer to an ambiguous question. A portfolio that explains tradeoffs rather than outcomes. A thank-you note that references something specific from the call.
Signals I no longer trust
Famous employers, the name of the school, the presence of a Medium article. All lagging indicators. Some of my best hires had none of them.
